TEMC is a consistent supporter of not-for-profit agencies based in Toronto. By helping those in need we can ease pain and suffering and spread Christ’s love to others.

The Grants Committee is responsible for identifying organizations that meet the church’s criteria for investment. The current criteria include the following:

  1. Reside in our community
  2. Receive little or no government support
  3. Have a goal of self-development and self-funding
  4. Help children and youth
  5. Teach and espouse Christian principles

The organizations that TEMC supports rely on these contributions, so we strive to be a long-term supporter with consistent or growing amounts. This allows us to get to know and understand the groups we support and the issues that they face and be a more meaningful partner. 

Here are some of our current partner organizations:

Sistering, the Massey Centre for Women, Metropolitan United Community Meals, CRC Fred Victor Centre, New Circles, Toronto City Mission, Yonge Street Mission, Churches-on-the-Hill Food Bank, North York Harvest Food Stop, STOP Community Food Centre, Street Health, and the Camping Opportunities Fund.

TEMC also supports its sister congregation, Davenport-Perth United Church, with gifts, knitted goods and financial donations collected through our White Gift Sunday event held prior to Christmas.
