For more than a century, Timothy Eaton Memorial Church has stood as a home for worship, beauty, and belonging in the heart of Toronto — a place where generations have come to encounter God and one another. Within these walls, faith has been nurtured, music has lifted hearts and community has been made real through compassion and care.
Today, we stand at an important moment in that story: to imagine what comes next. We believe God is calling us to build a future bigger than our past that honours our history, meets the needs of today, and leaves a lasting legacy for the generations to come.
Over the years, Timothy Eaton Memorial Church has been blessed with a vibrant congregation, extraordinary music, deep faith formation and a long tradition of service. But like many churches today, we also face real challenges: aging facilities, changing patterns of worship and a city that craves connection, belonging and hope.
To meet these needs, we are undertaking a Campaign Planning Study as a faithful next step. It’s an opportunity for our congregation and community to learn about our plans, reflect on them and offer feedback. Together, we will discern how TEMC can continue to flourish as a spiritual home and community hub in Toronto for decades to come.
A Future of Faith, Community and Hope
At the heart of this vision is a bold and faithful plan. We hope to build a $15.5 million endowment that will provide stable, long-term income of $775,000 annually to sustain five key pillars of our ministry:
- Inviting Worship: creating worship that is beautiful, participatory and transformative.
- Mending the World: extending compassion through justice, mercy and outreach.
- Celebrating Beauty: honouring God through music, art and creativity.
- Raising Disciples: nurturing faith and leadership for every generation.
- Awakening Community: building belonging in a city that longs for connection.
Each pillar reflects a core part of who we are and what we believe God is calling us to be. Alongside the endowment, we also envision $1.5 million in accessibility and renewal projects, including:
- An accessible chancel, ensuring all can participate fully in worship and leadership.
- The renovation of our Education Wing, creating bright, flexible spaces for learning and gathering.
- The launch of the Generosity Bistro, a welcoming new space for hospitality and community connection in a renovated West Assembly Hall with kitchen, seating and service upgrades.

How Can You Participate?
This study is, above all, about discernment — and discernment requires all of us. We invite you to share your feedback in the following ways:
1. Read the Case for Support
Our Case for Support outlines the full vision from the five ministry pillars to the specific goals and projects that will sustain our future. It’s a powerful story of faith, hope and renewal.
Download the 'Case for Support' Here
2. Attend a Town Hall
These gatherings are conversational sessions where we’ll share our vision, present the key elements of our plan and invite your feedback and questions. We want to hear about your hopes and ideas, and dream together about what God is calling TEMC to become.
🗓️ Join us online on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 and at the church on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
More details of the Town Hall coming soon.
